Why Choose SEND Fest
We did not just adapt a mainstream event. We built something entirely new, from the ground up, with your family in mind.
Every aspect of our events is designed with sensory needs in mind. Quiet zones, reduced noise areas, and calming spaces throughout.
Unlike mainstream festivals, every element of SEND Fest is created exclusively for SEND families. You belong here.
Detailed event information shared in advance. Visual guides, clear signage, and a dedicated support team on the day.
From toddlers to adults, every member of the SEND family has something wonderful to enjoy throughout the day.
SEND Fest is for the whole family. Siblings, carers, grandparents - everyone is welcome and valued.
Hand-picked accessible venues with experienced organisers who understand and prioritise SEND families' needs.
What We Stand For
These principles shape everything we do, from planning each event to welcoming every family through the gate.
SEND Fest is about the whole family having fun, because joy is powerful, healing and essential.
A space where explanation, judgement and worries are left at the door and children and adults with SEND can stim, explore, express and simply be themselves.
Accessibility is not an afterthought, it is an absolute essential.
Because everyone has the right to a fun day out with their family. By highlighting the magic of SEND Fest we want to influence attitudes, services and communities so that accessibility, acceptance and inclusion become the norm, not the exception.
SEND Fest brings families, friends and services together, reducing loneliness and isolation, and building strong, supportive communities that last far beyond the day itself.
SEND Fest is proudly delivered through a partnership between Independence Project & Clubs and Stories About Autism (SAA). Recognising and valuing the importance of lived experience, professional insight and community voice we strive to meet the needs of the SEND Community.
Family Stories
Real words from real families who have experienced the magic of SEND Fest.
We had a lovely evening! Was the first time we've been somewhere and felt fully comfortable and at ease. Best event we've been to, thank you to everyone involved!
We had the best night with you all, such a feeling of togetherness and understanding, a little nod & smile as you went past each other — we all see it and just get it. Never alone again.
The attention to detail is amazing and the level of thought to how to make things accessible is amazing, thank you.
For the first time I felt like a regular parent. I did not worry about my son's loud stims. I actually had the best day I've had in a long time.
